TOYOTA presents

  • A hybrid concept that gets 134.5 mpg, that is approximately 57 kilometre per litre.
  • The FT-Bh's power comes from a 1-liter, two-cylinder engine -- a smaller mill than what you find in large motorcycles.
  • It is an ultra-light concept, weighing less than 800kg, which demonstrates what can be achieved in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in an affordable family supermini.

  • “Ecomotion” was the theme for styling FT-Bh, with its shape demonstrating a new approach to bodywork design.

  • Key panels, such as the roof, are formed to represent the way fabric can be stretched taut between fastening points, to reflect their ultra-light weight.
  • The front end of the car broadcastsToyota’s current design language with its large lower grille, together with a sculpted bonnet and headlamps that are integrated into the front wings.
  • Ultra-slim A and C-pillars maximise the glazed area for better visibility and a greater sense of space in the cabin.
  • The way in which the cabin merges seamlessly into the rear of the vehicle, with an uplifted rear bumper and chevron-shaped corner elements, helps achieve the best possible aerodynamic performance and deliver a drag coefficient of just 0.235.

Making its debut at the Geneva motor show

  • The stretched fabric-look carries through to the minimalist interior, with a concave centre console creating a driver-focused cockpit, while maintaining the overall feeling of light and space.

Volkswagen's unveils

                              Small CUV

  • Taigun is small on the outside – at just 3.86 metres long and 1.73 metres wide – but big on the inside, thanks to a generous 2.47 metre wheelbase.
  • These dimensions give the Taigun short overhangs (708 mm front and 681 mm rear) and purposeful proportions.
  • While the clear, concise exterior styling follows the unmistakable Volkswagen design DNA.
  • Powering the four-seat Taigun is a new 1.0-litre.
  • Three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 PS at 5,000 rpm and
  • Pushing 175 Nm (129 lbs ft) of torque through the six-speed manual gearbox

  • The engine is based on the latest EA211 series
  •  With the use of direct fuel injection and turbocharging it is able to return a combined fuel consumption of just 4.7 litres per 100km (60.1 mpg), despite being able to take the 985 kg Taigun from zero to 62 mph in 9.2 seconds and on to 186 km/h (115 mph) top speed.

  •  The look of the Taigun is deliberately styled to emulate that of its SUV siblings, the Tiguan and    Touareg, as is evident in the rugged side panels.
  •  Underbody protection and practical roof rails with LED spotlights.
  •  Wide tracks (1,473 mm front and rear) help give the Taigun a purposeful look, while 17-inch alloys with 205/50 R17 tyres,
  • High ground clearance and
  • Plentiful torque enable it to deal with rough surfaces.
  • Designed for Urban enivornment.
  • There's plenty of room for luggage, thanks to a practical 280-litre loadspace that increases to 987 litres with the rear seats down.

  •  The interior of the Taigun is simple and spacious (headroom is 1,036 mm in front and 980 mm at the back), with controls pared back to a minimum.
  • The front air nozzles, for example, not only individually control the direction of the air flow, but also the blower speed and the temperature, which is displayed within the nozzle.
  • Meanwhile the central infotainment system can pair with the majority of smartphones, providing an intuitive interface.
  •  Above this are mounted auxiliary instrument gauges that display oil pressure, coolant temperature and turbo charge pressure.

  • The unique diagonal seating layout that offers an exciting driving experience thanks to exceptional visibility that creates a sense of being in control under any conditions
  • Tough on the outside, warm and welcoming within
  • An aerodynamically flat body pan in an eye-catching color, protecting the full length of the underside, completes the image of what we call ‘Modern Toughness

  • Facing the driver is a unique instrument cluster. It's an electronic tablet – just like today's popular portable devices – that serves as an "intelligent key."
  • The driver docks it when entering the car and removes it when leaving.
  • When docked in TeRRA, the tablet's default view displays speed and other key performance indicators.
  • But the driver can easily toggle to entertainment, communications, navigation and other views.

  • The unique diagonal seating layout that offers an exciting driving experience thanks to exceptional visibility that creates a sense of being in control under any conditions
  • Providing all-wheel power as needed, is an in-wheel electric motor, based on the working prototypes featured in three successive PIVO concepts.
  • As no drive shafts are required to power the rear wheels, there is no hump in the cabin floor or on the underbody. This allows for the flat cabin deck and the underside bodypan.

TeRRA is purely a concept car, but it signals that Nissan is ready to mass-produce fuel cell electric vehicles whenever hydrogen becomes widely available!!!!!
